Manhunt underway for suspect involved in shooting at Glenbrook Square Mall in Fort Wayne

A shooting occurred at the Glenbrook Square Mall in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday afternoon, resulting in one man in custody and another suspect still at large. The incident took place just after 2:30 p.m., according to Fort Wayne Police Department’s public information officer Sgt. Juan Gutierrez.

Brandon D. Key Jr., 22, was arrested and is facing charges including criminal recklessness, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement. The mall was closed and an Emergency Alert was issued urging people to avoid the area. The shooting took place in the mall’s food court, with one person sustaining non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot and another hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries due to the panic that followed.

Police were seen at a nearby location shortly after the shooting, where Key Jr. was taken into custody. There is currently no immediate threat to the public, and officers were working to clear the mall. This marks the third shooting at the mall within the past year.
