Media Bias: Biden’s Mental Decline Covered Up for Years

0:00

For years, the media has been aware of President Joe Biden’s declining mental and physical state, but have chosen to ignore or downplay it to help Democrats. Even after his debate performance revealed his vulnerability, the media quickly turned on him, pushing him to drop out of the race.

A recent report from The Wall Street Journal highlights the extent to which Biden’s senior advisers have been working to minimize the signs of his age-related decline. The report alleges that the White House and big-money donors have been colluding to hide the President’s inability to perform basic tasks.

Many reporters, however, likely knew about Biden’s condition and did nothing to investigate. As one observer noted, “If you didn’t know you’re being scammed, you’re too f—n’ dumb to keep this job. If you did know, you were in on it.”

The media’s reaction to Biden’s decline has been nothing short of astonishing. When Axios wrote that “Hell has no fury like a press corps deceived,” many are skeptical. Reporters have never accounted for their failure to notice Biden’s declining mental state.

Despite the recent revelations, many media outlets continue to attack anyone who questions Biden’s fitness for office. CNN’s Jake Tapper, for example, criticized Biden’s incoherent interview with MSNBC’s Morning Joe, but only after years of ignoring or downplaying the President’s declining mental acuity.

The lack of media accountability is staggering. When Special Counsel Robert Hur let Biden off the hook for his decades-long habit of hoarding classified documents, the political media didn’t investigate, instead attacking the messenger.

The New York Times has recently written an editorial asking Biden to drop out of the race, but the paper has a long history of downplaying or ignoring Biden’s declining mental state. In recent years, the Times has run stories claiming that videos showing Biden’s struggles are “misleading” and that his inability to recall certain details is probably not a big deal.

The same thing went on at NBC News, where one story’s subhead helpfully notes: “Forgetting the names of acquaintances or having difficulty remembering dates from the past doesn’t affect decision-making or judgment, brain experts say.”

The media’s focus on Biden’s mental decline has never been about the President’s ability to make decisions or protect the country, but rather about his ability to beat Donald Trump. This is a disturbing reminder of the media’s first loyalty, which is often to the Democratic Party rather than to the truth.
