A Texas Army National Guard soldier was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Eagle Pass on Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Jeremy Vance Randolph, 44, of Dallas, was driving a Ford passenger van on U.S. Highway 277, approximately 24 miles north of Eagle Pass, when the accident occurred at 1 p.m.
The driver of a 2019 Ford F-150, whose tire had blown out, lost control of his vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic, striking Randolph’s van. Randolph was pronounced dead at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center (FDRMC) after being airlifted to the hospital. The driver and two passengers of the F-150 were transported to FDRMC by ground ambulance, but their condition is unknown.
Randolph was on assignment in the border region as part of Operation Lone Star, a multi-agency effort launched by Governor Greg Abbott. The operation has led to significant results, including over 512,300 illegal immigrant apprehensions, 43,400 criminal arrests, and 38,200 felony charges. Additionally, Texas law enforcement has seized over 487 million lethal doses of fentanyl, enough to kill every person in the United States and Mexico combined.

- Over 45,000 migrants to New York City since August 2022
- Over 36,500 migrants to Chicago since August 2022
- Over 3,400 migrants to Philadelphia since November 2022
- Over 19,000 migrants to Denver since May 2023
- Over 1,500 migrants to Los Angeles since June 2023
