Pro-Palestinian protesters faced backlash at the University of Michigan’s commencement ceremony, where they were booed and jeered by the audience. The group marched into the UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance, disrupting the event with Palestinian flags and protest signs. While some cheered, most reacted with hostility, yelling “Get out!” and chanting “USA.”

The protesters carried signs with messages such as “UM funds genocide,” “Free Palestine,” and “ACAB,” an anti-police slogan. Despite warnings broadcasted by UM, the disruptions continued, leading to police escorting the protesters out after about three minutes.

Similar disruptions have been seen on other campuses, with raid incidents at Columbia University and UCLA. The Truth Voices has reached out to the University of Michigan for comment on the incident.
