Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was spotted dancing and blasting Cardi B’s music during a rally in support of fellow Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) on Saturday. As she pumped up the crowd, Ocasio-Cortez shouted, “Are we ready?” followed by, “I can’t hear you!” She also asked the attendees if they were “ready to win this country back” and “ready to fight” for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Additionally, Ocasio-Cortez queried the crowd about their readiness to take action in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, as Israel seeks to dismantle Hamas’s governmental and military capabilities. Her tone was echoed by Bowman, who joined her on stage and showed off his rapping and dancing skills.
Ocasio-Cortez has been a vocal critic of Israel’s actions, particularly since Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people and the abduction of more than 250. In March, she appeared on CNN’s State of the Union and stated that Israel had “crossed the threshold of intent” and was facilitating a genocide in Gaza.
Prior to this, during an MSNBC All IN interview in February, Ocasio-Cortez expressed her desire for the United States to impose conditions on its aid to Israel.
