An illegal immigrant from Guatemala is accused of committing a horrific murder of a mother and her young daughter in Hillsborough County, Florida, according to Sheriff Chad Chronister. The suspect, Angel Gabriel Cuz-Choc, was arrested and charged with the murders of 36-year-old Amalia Coc Choc de Pec and her four-year-old daughter, Estrella Anastasia Pec Coc.

Sheriff Chronister described the crime as “extremely gruesome,” with the bodies of the victims found in a backyard and inside the residence. After a brief manhunt, Cuz-Choc was captured hiding in a wooded area near the scene.

It was revealed that Cuz-Choc had been in a relationship with Amalia, but Estrella was not his biological daughter. Authorities believe that he crossed the U.S.-Mexico border approximately seven months ago with Amalia and Estrella before settling in Hillsborough County.

Sheriff Chronister condemned the heinous act and praised law enforcement for quickly apprehending the suspect. Cuz-Choc is currently in Hillsborough County Jail facing two counts of first-degree murder.

This tragic incident highlights the dangers of illegal immigration and the devastating impact it can have on innocent lives.
