Boxing star Ryan Garcia, aged 25, was apprehended at a Beverly Hills hotel for purportedly committing felony vandalism, resulting in around $15,000 in damages at the Waldorf Astoria, as reported by TMZ.

Upon receiving reports of Garcia causing destruction to property at the hotel, including in his room and a hallway, Beverly Hills police arrived around 5:45 p.m., after which charges were pressed by the hotel.

Witnesses captured photos of Garcia being escorted to a patrol car shirtless and with a black motorcycle helmet, showing the moment of his arrest.

After being taken into custody on suspicion of felony vandalism, Garcia was subsequently released the same night.

Details leading up to the incident are unclear, but according to Darin Chavez, Garcia’s attorney, the boxer was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, and may potentially face charges of public intoxication.

In a statement issued to ESPN, Chavez highlighted the challenging circumstances for Garcia, notably concerning his mother’s health, while affirming their dedicated efforts to support him.

Already facing suspension by the New York Athletic Commission for testing positive for Ostarine, a prohibited substance, Garcia’s victory over Devin Haney could potentially be invalidated.

Past statements by Garcia on social media have vehemently denied any wrongdoing, expressing his innocence and minimal use of supplements.

As investigations into the Beverly Hills incident continue, the situation remains complex without further elaboration.
