PragerU’s app was removed from the Google app store on Friday.
Google informed PragerU that a review of the app revealed “content or speech asserting that a protected group is inhuman, inferior, or worthy of being hated.” Consequently, the app was suspended from Google Play.
Google’s hate speech policy states, “We don’t allow apps that promote violence, or incite hatred against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or any other characteristic that is associated with system discrimination or marginalization.”

PragerU claims the suspension relates to its recent documentary on Hamas. PragerU alleged that its Dear Infidels: A Warning to America project is the documentary “that Google does not want you to see” because it is “spreading awareness about the significant threat radical Islam poses to our freedom.”
“Google is using Soviet-style tactics and attempting to silence us. According to Google, sharing the stories of a former Palestinian refugee, an Arab Muslim born in Israel, and brave U.S. Navy SEALs who witnessed the horrors of Muslim extremism constitutes ‘hate speech,’” PragerU said in a statement. “This is a blatant attempt to silence truth and censor speech.”
Founder Dennis Prager has previously clashed with the tech giant, suing Google in 2017 for allegedly prioritizing left-leaning videos over those of PragerU. However, two courts ultimately ruled against Prager and in Google’s favor.
The PragerU app remains on the Apple app store with a 4.7/5 rating. It is listed under the “Education” category and offers content for children as young as 4.
