Raffaele Sollecito, former boyfriend of Amanda Knox, who was also accused of murder, shared with Truth Voices his growing belief that the “court of Florence has something against us.”

Expressing his disappointment with Knox’s slander reconviction, Sollecito mentioned his unsuccessful attempts to seek compensation for his wrongful imprisonment each time they appeared in court. According to him, things seemed to take a turn for the worse during each court session.

Curt Knox, father of Amanda, also conveyed his family’s deep disappointment regarding his daughter’s slander reconviction.

Despite being exonerated in the 2007 murder of her British flatmate while both were studying abroad in Italy, Amanda Knox was reconvicted in an Italian courtroom. The court determined that she falsely accused an innocent man of the crime. Knox will not serve additional jail time as the three-year sentence was deemed as time already served.

The case of Meredith Kercher, the 21-year-old victim, in the picturesque town of Perugia gained widespread attention leading to suspicions falling on Knox, a 20-year-old exchange student from Seattle, and her Italian boyfriend of one week, Sollecito.

Knox and Sollecito endured four years in prison after being initially convicted for Kercher’s murder, only to be cleared by Italy’s highest court in 2015.

Rudy Hermann Guede, a transient living in Perugia, was later found guilty of Kercher’s murder in a swift trial. Despite being sentenced to 16 years and an indication that he did not act alone, Guede was released from prison in 2021 after serving 13 years. Recently, following accusations of physical and sexual abuse made by his ex-girlfriend, he was directed to wear a monitoring bracelet and restrict his movements at night.
