A fight between two groups of girls at Norland Senior High School in Miami Gardens resulted in a large brawl on Monday. Five people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds at a nearby home off-campus, according to Miami 10 reports. Witnesses said the altercation started at the school and then continued at a home on Northwest 197th Street when a parent went to speak to another parent. Police confirmed that three adults and two juveniles were injured in the shooting, with nonfatal injuries to their legs. The teenagers were taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, while the adults were transported elsewhere. The school was temporarily placed on lockdown by police and ATF agents to investigate the area, but the lockdown was lifted the following day. The motive behind the fight is still unknown, and no arrests have been made yet. A person of interest has been detained, but the investigation is ongoing.
