Protesters disrupted Harvard University interim president Alan Garber on Friday during “Alumni Day” in Harvard Yard, with one individual storming the stage and pouring green glitter over Garber as he gave his speech.

Subsequently, pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted Garber’s speech, eliciting boos from some attending alumni.
The previous week’s Harvard commencement ceremony was disrupted by a speech containing antisemitic rhetoric.
Some Jewish alumni are boycotting the event in protest against Harvard’s inadequate response to antisemitism on campus.
Harvard is among several universities currently under investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives and the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights. The Department of Justice Civil Rights Division has not taken action.
Following the October 7 terror attacks, numerous Harvard student groups blamed Israel for the violence. Recently, an “encampment” was established in Harvard Yard, which was only dismantled after the administration acceded to many of the protesters’ demands.
