Top Motorola Phones of 2024: Advantages and Disadvantages, Key Features

The phone’s battery life is the standout feature, with a 5,100-mAh cell that easily lasts two full days of average use. Even heavy users can expect a full day without needing to recharge. When it does need a boost, you can use the included 68-watt charging adapter or a wireless charger. Motorola is one of the few phone makers still including a charger in the box, but this practice may change in 2024.

However, the camera system is where this phone falls short. The 50-megapixel primary camera, 50-MP ultrawide, and 60-MP selfie camera deliver oversaturated and overly brightened results with off skin tones. In low light, photos often come out blurry, making the camera performance disappointing. For those who prioritize camera quality, opting for a Google Pixel 7A or Samsung Galaxy S24 may be a better choice.

Motorola promises three Android OS upgrades and four years of bimonthly security updates with this phone.

Moving on to the runner-up phone from 2023, a collaboration between Motorola and Lenovo resulted in the ThinkPhone, modeled after Lenovo’s ThinkPad business laptops. While it shares similarities with the Edge+, such as a 5,000-mAh battery lasting two days, a 68-watt charger included in the box, and wireless charging support, the ThinkPhone comes at a slightly lower price point. It features a 6.6-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The camera setup includes a 50-MP primary sensor, 13-MP ultrawide, and 32-MP selfie camera, offering better results compared to the Motorola Edge+. However, the cameras still do not match up to other models in the market. Despite this, the ThinkPhone is a solid choice, especially considering its price of around $400.

Motorola’s folding smartphone, the Razr+, is an improved version of its 2020 predecessor, offering a unique folding flip phone design. With a larger 3.6-inch OLED exterior screen that displays notifications, apps, widgets, and even allows for gaming, the Razr+ also features primary cameras that can be used for selfies when the phone is flipped shut. It provides a nostalgic flip phone experience with modern smartphone capabilities.
