Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg faced challenges on CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday, as he tried to clarify the slow progress of the Biden administration in establishing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, having built only “seven or eight” so far.
Despite the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 allocating $7.5 billion for constructing a nationwide EV charging infrastructure, no stations had been built by the end of 2023.
