Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has highlighted a job listing from the Democrat National Committee (DNC) for a project manager aimed at mitigating third-party candidates, showcasing apparent Democrat concerns about the election dynamics.

The job listing emerges in a context where third-party candidates appear to be more detrimental to President Joe Biden’s standings compared to former President Donald Trump in national polls. RealClearPolling averages show Trump ahead of Biden by 1.1 points (47.5 to 46.4) in a direct matchup as of Saturday. When considering a five-way race, the margin widens to 2.4 percent, with Trump at 41.7 percent and Biden at 39.3 percent. Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garners 10.5 percent, while independents Cornel West and Stein account for 1.7 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.

The primary responsibility for the position involves monitoring the campaign activities of Stein, Kennedy Jr., and West “in the region and sharing intel in real-time.”

The main goal during the initial phase is to gather “on-the-ground intel to inform our overall landscape assessment of independent and third-party candidates.”
This involves collecting data on the candidates’ “Ballot access progress,” “Campaign activity, organizational strength, and voter/grassroots enthusiasm.” Additionally, the first phase features mobilizing “in-state leaders and supporters for four current and future program priorities.”
As part of the mobilization efforts, the project manager will work on recruiting volunteers to attend events held by Stein, West, and Kennedy Jr.
Other tasks in the first phase include enlisting “volunteers for petition review and other legal-adjacent support for potential ballot access challenges” and participating in “petition review and supporting petition review programs.”
