Cassie’s Lawyer Criticizes Diddy’s ‘Fake’ Apology

The lawyer representing Sean Diddy Combs’ former partner, Cassie, has criticized the rapper for his recent “disingenuous” apology regarding a video that showcases Diddy violently attacking her.

Meredith Firetog, attorney for Casandra “Cassie” Elizabeth Ventura, informed Fox News that “Combs’ most recent statement is more an attempt to salvage his own image rather than addressing the hurt he caused to numerous individuals.”

“When Cassie and other women stepped forward, he denied the allegations and insinuated their motive was financial gain,” Firetog mentioned. “His sudden ‘apology’ following evidence disproving his denials reveals his pitiful desperation. His inauthentic words won’t convince anyone.”

Diddy promptly issued an apology after CNN released a 2016 surveillance video from an L.A. hotel.

The footage, captured by the InterContinental Hotel’s surveillance cameras in Century City, depicts Diddy, wrapped in a towel, chasing Cassie through the hallways. The video shows him assaulting her, grabbing her by the neck, and throwing her to the ground. He is then seen kicking her multiple times and dragging her down the hall by her arm.

The video was allegedly linked to a lawsuit Ventura filed against Combs in November, which has since been settled for an undisclosed amount.

Following the video’s release by CNN, Diddy rushed to Instagram, expressing his “disgust” over his actions depicted in the footage.

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” the music mogul stated in a video posted on his social media accounts on Sunday.

“Reflecting on the darkest times in your life is tough, but sometimes it’s necessary,” Combs remarked in his apology video. He continued, saying, “I sought professional help. I attended therapy and rehab. I had to seek God’s mercy and grace. I’m deeply sorry. I strive to become a better man each day. I’m not asking for forgiveness but genuinely apologizing.”

Ventura is among four individuals who have filed lawsuits against Combs, accusing him of abuse.
