Former President Donald Trump is set to address the 153rd National Rifle Association annual meeting in Dallas, Texas, along with Gov. Greg Abbott (R) at 2:00 p.m. Trump hinted at the possibility of being endorsed by the NRA during his speech at the Minnesota GOP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner. The NRA has expressed admiration for Trump, with Interim Executive Vice President & CEO Andrew Arulanandam praising his commitment to American values.
Randy Kozuch, Executive Director of NRA-ILA, also highlighted Trump’s dedication to upholding constitutional freedoms and Second Amendment rights. The NRA previously endorsed Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections. Texas, where the event is taking place, is considered a solidly Republican state, with Trump winning by a comfortable margin in 2020.
Despite Trump’s popularity in Texas, President Joe Biden won Dallas County in the last election, underscoring the city’s Democratic leanings. Dallas has not voted for a Democratic president since Jimmy Carter in 1976. Trump maintains a significant lead in polls for the state, indicating strong support from Texas voters.
