A Las Vegas man named Kyle Banks, 38, is facing charges of child abuse, DUI, and battery domestic violence after allegedly pushing his girlfriend out of a moving vehicle and later crashing into a parked Metro patrol vehicle with two children in the backseat. The incident took place on May 13 at around 11:30 p.m. near Petal Avenue and Twilight Street in Las Vegas.
According to reports, the victim called 911 screaming in pain, stating that Banks had pushed her out of the moving vehicle. Witnesses saw Banks kick the woman out of the car, causing her to scream for help and lie down on the sidewalk. Police found the victim partially in the road with her 7-year-old daughter, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.
One witness in the car with two infant brothers stated that Banks had become aggressive during an argument with the victim, threatening to punch her in the jaw multiple times. Banks allegedly grabbed the wheel, pushed the victim out of the vehicle, and continued to drive with the two children in the backseat.
As officers were investigating the scene, Banks drove towards a parked Metro patrol vehicle, ignoring commands to stop, and crashed into it. Police noticed that Banks showed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and smelling strongly of alcohol. A half-empty bottle of Seagrams gin was found in the back seat.
Banks was taken into custody, and the two children were discovered in their car seats in the back of the vehicle. He is set to appear in court on Thursday to face the charges against him.
