NBCUniversal’s Peacock is set to release a series that aims to promote LGBTQIA2S+ representation, featuring gay and transgender animals. The preview for the series challenges traditional views on gender and sexuality, stating that the concept of fixed sexes is outdated.

The trailer for the series showcases the diversity of the animal kingdom, with images of same-sex behavior among animals like lions. The narrator emphasizes that the world is home to 11 million species, highlighting the complexity and diversity of nature.

The series explores the existence of gay penguins, bisexual lions, and sex-changing clownfish, celebrating the diversity of gender and sexuality in the natural world. The trailer asserts that queerness has always been a part of existence, challenging societal stigmas around diverse sexual behavior in humans.

Narrated by Andrew Rannells, the series aims to shed light on LGBTQ+ behaviors across the animal kingdom, emphasizing the importance of embracing one’s true self. The release of the series aligns with Pride Month and will be available for streaming on Peacock starting June 6.

While the series has received support from many, there has also been backlash on social media, with some expressing frustration over what they perceive as an excessive promotion of LGBTQIA2S+ themes. Despite the criticism, the series aims to provide a platform for celebrating diversity and inclusivity in nature.
