In a recent incident in New York City, a man’s attempt to attack a couple walking their dog ended in failure when the couple fought back. The 37-year-old assailant followed the couple as they walked in Queens, then tried to ambush the man riding a scooter along with the woman and dog. He punched the man but was quickly overpowered by the couple, with the woman also joining in the fight. Bystanders eventually stepped in to separate them. The assailant was later found with stab wounds and is in critical but stable condition in the hospital. It is unclear if the attack was random or if the individuals knew each other, and no arrests have been made so far. This incident follows a separate random attack near Times Square, where a Pennsylvania mom leading a class trip was stabbed but not seriously injured. The assailant in that case had a history of criminal behavior and lived in a nearby shelter.
