Rising Anti-Israel Sentiment Among Generation Z: A Troubling Trend Among Young Adults

0:00

Generation Z has caused surprise among older generations. Recent campus protests across the country have shown a strong anti-Israel sentiment among young people. A Harvard/Harris poll in December found that 67% of 18-24-year-olds believed that “Jews as a class are oppressors and should be treated as oppressors,” compared to only 27% of all adults.

This anti-Jewish attitude has been seen in chants of “Intifada revolution” and “From the River to the Sea,” even when the protesters can’t identify the river or sea they are referring to. This trend of anti-Jewish sentiment, sometimes disguised as anti-Zionism, is concerning and indicates that campus indoctrination is not the sole issue.

Reports have shown a significant increase in antisemitic incidents in K-12 schools across the country, with many instances going unreported or unchecked. This alarming trend is fuelled by an ideology that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion, critical race theory, and wokeness, dominating educational institutions and shaping the country’s future.

One specific example highlighted the situation at Montgomery County Public Schools, where reports of antisemitism have gained attention, leading to a federal investigation. Parents and students have shared their experiences of antisemitism in schools, prompting concerns about the lack of action and accountability from the educational system.
