The latest models of TAG Heuer Formula 1 watches feature sapphire crystal dials and high-grade rubber straps, a departure from the old plastic materials. The collection includes five versions with stainless steel cases, two of which have black PVD coatings on their bezels. Additionally, there are five models with cases made of Arnite in collaboration with New York-based Kith, featuring vibrant colorways.
Ronnie Fieg, the founder of Kith and a prominent figure in streetwear and sneaker culture, is a collector of vintage TAG Heuer Formula 1s. Kith exclusive models, including all-plastic versions and steel versions with colored bezels, can be found in select Kith stores or online.
These new Formula 1 watches are priced at $1,350 and are limited edition. The Kith exclusive models are limited to 250 each, while the steel Kith exclusives have a limited run of 350. Exclusive models with black-coated steel cases are only available at TAG Heuer stores and limited to 825 pieces each.
All models come with quartz movements and 200-meter water resistance like the originals. The timepieces also bear Kith’s “Just Us” slogan on the dial and feature co-branding with the TAG Heuer logo replaced with “Kith.”
TAG Heuer, under the ownership of luxury conglomerate LVMH since 1999, has undergone various transformations in recent years, including the introduction of high-end smartwatches, lab-grown diamonds, and other innovative technologies. The brand continues to evolve to appeal to younger consumers, as seen in its collaboration with Kith.
A total of just under 5,000 watches will be available in 10 limited editions. Some models will be available online, unlike previous exclusive releases.
