Christians took part in what is being recognized as the largest baptism event in the United States, with approximately 12,000 individuals being baptized in California over the weekend.

“WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT GOD DID THIS WEEKEND. This is revival,” the Baptize California Facebook page posted on Wednesday.

Photos show participants being baptized in a large tank near the stage, while numerous others gathered by the ocean:

Reflecting on the remarkable event, Oceans Church Pastor and event founder Mark Francey stated, “You can smell another Great Awakening in the air like rain before it hits. God lit a match yesterday! If God can do this in the church in California, it can — and it will — happen in the rest of America!”

Attendees prayed over each other, and others were seen holding large banners declaring “Jesus is King,” according to video footage.

Francey previously hosted Baptize SoCal in 2023, which saw nearly 4,200 baptisms. Since then, he had been preparing for this recent event and is thrilled with the results.

“It was a surreal and extraordinary day! [It] felt like we were living in the pages of the books of Acts!” he shared.

Francey is now planning an even larger event for next year called Baptize America. He encouraged people to prepare and register their churches for the event scheduled on June 8.

“Now we are gearing up to do this and unite the church all over America,” he said.
